Unique Home Solutions Honored for Excellent Roof Installation Practices
April 9, 2012 (Indianapolis) – Unique Home Solutions has been selected as the winner of three GAF Excellence Awards, recognizing the Acclaimed Roofing Division for superior training, installation and consumer protection for jobs performed in 2011.
The Excellence Awards are sponsored each year by GAF to recognize roofing contractors who have achieved Master Elite™ Contractor status and have consistently performed quality installations and customer care. GAF is North America’s largest manufacturer of commercial and residential roofing. Unique is one of over 20,000 dealers in the Central Region, and is honored to be recognized for their exceptional performance.
“We are delighted to have been honored in such a way by GAF. Earning these awards was no small task; the employees of Unique went above and beyond to provide this type of service and craftsmanship, which is something we ask of them on every job,” said Bob Dillon, President of Unique Home Solutions.
The Consumer Protection Excellence Award recognizes Unique for protecting homeowners with system selling and enhanced warranties. To achieve this award Unique installed and registered a minimum of 100 enhanced warranty jobs or a minimum of $10,000 in warranty dollars in 2011.
The Training Excellence Award recognizes Unique for their commitment to training and continuous improvement. To achieve this award all roofing installation crews attended educational programs sponsored by GAF to refine their skills.
Unique was also awarded the Installation Excellence Award. This award recognizes Unique for demonstrating high levels of quality on a consistent basis. All installations are inspected by GAF; therefore to achieve this award Unique held a clean record in relation to installation complaints and follow up with customers, and had a perfect score on warranty inspections in 2011.

This is a status that only 3% of the roofing contractors in America have achieved. As a locally owned and operated company, we would like nothing more than to announce that we have installed each and every job flawlessly. It is likely most home remodelers wish the same. Unfortunately, in our over 30,000 installations performed in Central Indiana since 1983 that has not been the case. Unique Windows with Paul Poteet
Two years ago, Paul Poteet noticed a problem. The air around his windows was not the same temperature as the air in other areas of his home. As Indiana’s Weatherman, he knew as the weather started getting colder, the inefficiency of the windows was going to be a growing issue.
Paul contacted Unique Home Solutions in search of some answers. At the time, his windows were over 20 years old and they were starting to cause him the same issues most of Unique’s customers notice; air infiltration, moisture between panes and overall discomfort from varying temperatures in the house.
Unique introduced the Unique Triple Ten window to Paul. Paul and his family appreciated the triple panes of glass and the security of added insulation. The Unique Triple Ten window has one uniquewindow sill design. The Dura-Sill ™, combined with the Elements sash, combines interlocks, air locks, weather-stripping, water barriers, and diversions that work 24-7 to maximize energy efficiency. With this innovative sash/sill combination a gust of air would have to force its way around ten 90° turns, over one interlock, through a triple-fin weather-strip and between a Soft-Seal™ neoprene gasket and ledge before making its way into the home.

2011 Holiday Contest Winners
On Christmas Eve, Unique Home Solutions chose one lucky household as our winner of the $10,000 home remodeling sweepstakes! Congratulations to Robert and Doris Bernethy of Indianapolis, Indiana!
The Bernethy’s originally contacted Unique Home Solutions after viewing a segment on WISH TV’s Indy Style show about the Luxury Bath line of products. Knowing that a bathroom makeover was on their wish list, they called Unique. The Bernethy’s had a representative come to their home to walk them through the options for the bathroom, and though they liked the product and liked the company, they chose not to move forward with the bathroom project. Doris told us that due to Robert’s recent emergency surgery, the medical bill was quite overwhelming and all home remodeling projects were put off until their financial situation had lightened.
Unexpectedly, Doris received a call from Unique on Christmas Eve to inform her that she and Robert won $10,000 to put toward a home remodeling project of their choice. In fact, Doris had forgotten all about the sweepstakes, but knew right away which area of her home she wanted to dedicate the prize money toward, she said, “I’m in shock! Does this mean we can get our bathroom fixed?”
